Turriff - novice and sprint Triathlon description

View the detailed description of each section of the route and maps.

Transition area

There is a 150m run between the swimming pool exit and the transition area.

The route takes you from the swimming pool exit through the car park down towards the boating pond at the Haughs, then through the underpass and around the side of the leisure centre to the transition area.

Due to the variable nature of the underfoot conditions on this route we must insist that all competitors wear appropriate footwear when they do this. When running through the underpass please keep left at all times.

Swim section

Turriff pool is a 20m, 4 lane pool allowing heats of 20 swimmers. Short distance is 20 lengths and the sprint distance is 38 lengths. The start is at the deep end of the pool as the exit is at that end of the building down a flight of stairs. At the bottom of the stairs there is adequate room for competitors to leave shoes and clothing.
