We offer a wide range of e-newspapers and e-magazines from our providers Press Reader and RBdigital.

You need to join a library to be able to read and download items. You can browse e-magazines without having to sign in.

Press Reader

PressReader is the world’s largest online newspaper kiosk, where you can browse and read thousands of newspapers and magazines. It contains more than 7,000 publications from over 120 countries in over 60 languages.

How to Login

Follow these steps to log in to Press Reader:

  1. Visit Press Reader or open the App and click Sign In
  2. Select the gold Library and Group sign in button
  3. Search for Aberdeenshire Libraries from the list of libraries
  4. Enter your library card number and PIN
  5. Click on Sign In

You get 30 days access. After this period you are required to reactivate your access. Go to your account, sign out and then sign back in again. You can reactivate as many times as you wish.

Press Reader app

You can download the Press Reader app for iOitunesS  or Press Reader app for Android to read on your mobile or tablet.

Export to eReader

Export your newspaper or magazine to your traditional eReader using  Export to eReader. This supports a number of file types and devices such as Kindle classic (mobi) Nook and Kobo (Epub).

How to sign in

Once you join a library, you will need to create an account to use the service ('Create New Account' link in top right corner). You will need to provide your library card number and create and account with your name, email address and password. 

If you already have an account with RBdigital, sign in with your library number and password.

Compatible devices and software

You can read e-magazines online immediately on your computer or mobile device using a web browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari or Internet Explorer.

To read items offline at any time you need to download them first. You can do that using the app on a mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone. You can't download items to read offline on your computer.

You can download the app for iOSAndroid and Kindle Fire, HD or HDX devices.

Borrow and download items

You can download as many e-magazines as you want and keep e-magazines permanently.
