Temporary coach parking restrictions in Stonehaven
Due to a welcome rise in the number of tourist coaches visiting Stonehaven in recent years, the town is introducing temporary parking restrictions for coaches in a bid to ease traffic congestion and ensure a safer, more accessible environment.
While the increased tourism is a boost for local businesses and the economy, the current volume of coaches has placed pressure on town centre infrastructure, particularly around drop-off points and unsuitable parking areas – including the harbour.
To address these issues, a number of designated short-stay parking locations for coaches have now been identified.
Maps outlining these areas are available and coach operators are kindly asked to proceed to the next location listed if a designated spot is full on arrival.
These arrangements are a temporary measure while a long-term solution is developed. Coach drivers and tour operators are urged to follow the new guidance to help keep Stonehaven a safe, welcoming, and easily navigable destination.
