Daily half-hour closure at recycling centres
From Monday 6 October, Aberdeenshire Council will introduce a daily closure at all household recycling centres between 12:30pm and 1pm.
This daily lunchtime closure is being introduced to support the wellbeing of site operatives and ensure consistent service throughout the rest of the day.
Appropriate signage will be displayed at each location to reflect the change in opening times. The change will not affect the pedestrian access times that are available at certain sites.
Customers will need to leave the site by 12.30pm. For example, a fully loaded vehicle arriving at 12.25pm may not be allowed access.
We ask that all household recycling centre visitors arrive early enough to unload their vehicle before the lunchtime or end-of-day close and to check the website prior to travelling in case of a change in opening times, a need to book, a closure, to see what can be recycled, and the type of vehicles that are welcomed.
Booking is required for...
-
All vehicles at Inverurie and Westhill household recycling centres.
-
Commercial-type vehicles and vehicles with a trailer at all household recycling centres
If you do need to book, please arrive on time as entry may be refused to anyone arriving outside of their given time slot.
The current 15-minute booking slots at Westhill and Inverurie for all vehicles will not change. For commercial-type vehicles and vehicles with a trailer at all other household recycling centres, AM and PM time slots will become available so that staff can ensure all customers have exited the premises by 12:30pm.
