Two months to go before Aberdeenshire Restaurant Week serves up another host of special offers

With just two months to go, restaurants, cafes and hotels are being encouraged to sign up for the return of the hugely-popular Aberdeenshire Restaurant Week.

Now hosted over a fortnight from November 3-16, the event will once again offer customers an amazing range of special menus, deals and discounts designed to attract locals and visitors alike.

Served up by Aberdeenshire Council’s Economic Development Service, the popular event dishes up unbeatable local produce and flavours to give diners a great reason to explore the region’s culinary hotspots – while boosting the vibrant hospitality sector at a traditionally quieter time of year.

Seventy-five eateries took part in the inaugural Restaurant Week – from cosy cafés to fine-dining favourites – and more than 35 have already signed up, many of them returning for a second year after seeing the benefits of increased bookings last year. Among them are the Pennan Inn and the Davron Hotel at Rosehearty where the launch took place.

Peter Simpson of the Pennan Inn said: “Aberdeenshire Restaurant Week gives local venues like ourselves a real boost, bringing in new faces, rewarding our loyal customers and showcasing the best of our food scene while encouraging visitors to stay a bit longer and explore more of what the region has to offer.”

Ritchie Duthie of the Davron Hotel added: “We really saw the benefits of being part of this event with increased bookings and really good feedback. We know there will once again be a lot of eager diners looking forward to more mouth-watering range of dishes across Aberdeenshire and I would encourage restaurants, cafés, hotels and bars to get involved.”

You can register your business for Aberdeenshire Restaurant Week by emailing restaurantweek@aberdeenshire.gov.uk

Cllr Alan Turner, chair of the council’s Infrastructure Services Committee, said:
“Last year’s Aberdeenshire Restaurant Week proved just how much demand there is for great local food and drink and it’s fantastic to see the event returning for two weeks this November. Diners are eager to discover new places to eat, and the more venues which get involved, the greater the experience for everyone.

"I’d urge restaurants, hotels, cafés and pubs which sell food across the region to sign up now – it really is the perfect opportunity to raise your profile, attract new customers and give your business a real boost during a quieter time of year.”

Feedback from diners in 2024 showed:

•    85% rated the venue choice as excellent or good
•    More than 50% tried somewhere new or visited a new part of Aberdeenshire
•    32% spent money in other businesses while out for Restaurant Week

The Restaurant Week website saw 30,000 visitors and more than 800 email sign-ups

Plans for this year also include linking Restaurant Week with the Aberdeenshire Loves Local gift card campaign and exploring new partnerships between local food producers and hospitality outlets to further strengthen the region’s food economy for the future.
