Foundation Apprenticeships deliver record pass rates and career success
For many young people, choosing a future career can feel daunting.
Foundation Apprenticeships help bridge the gap between school and the world of work, giving learners the opportunity to gain industry experience, recognised qualifications and valuable employability skills while still in education.
This year 799 pupils achieved a full Foundation Apprenticeship qualification. The successful completion rate for Foundation Apprenticeships was the strongest year ever at both Level 6 and Level 4/5. 92% achieved the full FA at Level 6, 79% at Level 4/5 giving an overall FA pass rate of 87%.
Theo combined his school studies with practical workplace experience, gaining first-hand insight into the Accountancy profession and developing the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to pursue a successful career in finance.
Theo said: "The Foundation Apprenticeship gave me the opportunity to experience the accountancy profession in a real working environment while still at school.
“Through my employer placement, I was able to apply the accounting knowledge I had learned in the classroom and gain a genuine understanding of what it is like to work as part of a professional finance team.
“The experience, qualifications and support I received played a significant role in helping me secure a Graduate Apprenticeship in Accountancy with AAB, and I feel well prepared for the next stage of my career."
Having successfully completed his Foundation Apprenticeship and achieved the qualifications required, Theo secured a place on a highly competitive Graduate Apprenticeship in Accountancy with AAB, one of Scotland's leading professional services firms, starting this month (August).
This next step allows him to continue earning, learning and developing professionally while working towards becoming a qualified accountant.
