Views sought on Aberdeenshire Council’s affordable housing investment plans

Views are being sought on Aberdeenshire Council’s draft Strategic Housing Investment Plan (SHIP), which could see more than 2,200 homes built across the area over the next five years.

The plan outlines the potential for the development of high quality, energy-efficient affordable housing between 2027 and 2032 across all areas of Aberdeenshire.

These would include social housing provided by the council or housing associations, mid-market housing with rents lower than the private rental sector, and opportunities for affordable home ownership.

Alongside Aberdeenshire Council, delivery of the SHIP will involve partners such as housing associations, the Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership, the Scottish Government, the development industry, and landowners.

The draft plan and details of the potential numbers of properties that could be built under the SHIP can be viewed before completing the consultation, which is open until Friday, September 4, and should take around five minutes to complete

Full details can be found on the council’s Engage platform at: https://bit.ly/SHIP2732

Paper copies of the survey can also be printed at any Aberdeenshire Council public library.
