Aberdeenshire Council seasonal garden waste recycling points open from Saturday 4 April
Aberdeenshire’s seasonal garden waste recycling points will return on 4 April and will recur every Saturday up to and including 31 October 2026.
You will find them at locations throughout Aberdeenshire: Aboyne, Ballater, Balmedie, Blackburn, Inverbervie, Kemnay, Kintore, Mintlaw, Newmachar, Newtonhill, Oldmeldrum, and St Cyrus from Saturday 4 April.
Garden waste will be recycled in a sustainable open-windrow process that produces a high-quality compost for the agricultural and horticultural industry.
Always check the website before visiting a seasonal garden waste point in case there are any cancellations due to an event taking place on location: aberdeenshire.gov.uk/SeasonalGardenWastePoints

Please, no trailers or vans (except car-derived vans) are allowed and do not leave your garden waste at these locations when the collection service has been cancelled. Anything more than would fit in a typical wheelie bin (240ltr) cannot be accepted. Anything larger, or particularly tonne bags, will need to go to a household recycling centre or trade waste transfer station if it is business waste.
Residents can recycle garden waste all year round at many of our household recycling centres.
We ask that all visitors to our household recycling centres check the website prior to travelling in case of a change in opening times, a need to book, a closure, to see what can be recycled, and the type of vehicles that are welcomed. When visiting, please arrive early enough to unload the vehicle before the lunchtime or end-of-day close.
If you do need to book, please arrive on time as entry may be refused to anyone arriving outside of their given time slot.
Booking is required for all vehicles visiting Inverurie and Westhill household recycling centres. Only commercial-type vehicles and vehicles with a trailer must book at all other recycling centres.
