Strategic sites marketed in Fraserburgh and Inverurie
Two strategic sites in Fraserburgh and Inverurie are being marketed for sale by Aberdeenshire Council.
In Fraserburgh, the former Iceberg fishing processing factory on the town’s South Harbour Road has gone on the market with offers sought in excess of £430,000.
The property comprises two industrial buildings – the main processing unit with ancillary offices, changing rooms and WCs with extensive frontage onto South Harbour Road – and a former engine shed used for storage with ancillary WC and office.
Meanwhile, offers are again being sought for the 3-acre site of the former Harlaw Day Centre in Inverurie which is located a short distance to the north of the town centre.
Currently designated as BUS1 and reserved for business use in the 2023 Local Development Plan, all former buildings have been demolished and removed to create a site with redevelopment opportunity. The aim is to secure an offer which benefits the local community, supports the wider local economy and delivers best value for the council.

Aberdeenshire Council Co-Leader and chair of its Business Services Committee, Cllr Stewart Adams, said: “Securing best value through the sale of vacant properties and sites is absolutely critical for the council and we need to make informed, strategic decisions which balance a timely financial return for us as a council against long-term social and economic outcomes.
