Planning comments
Pylon consultations
We have seen a significant increase in consultations on large scale electricity infrastructure projects - such as pylon developments or windfarms.
The council responds to these consultations, which come from the Scottish Government Energy Consents Unit, in its role as a formal consultee. Our response is to reflect local planning policy and technical considerations only. It is not within the powers of the council to include public comments, or views of other bodies such as community councils, in its response.
Where to make comments
Individuals and organisations are urged to submit their views directly to Energy Consents Unit (ECU) to ensure they are properly recorded and considered. This process ensures that public views are seen in full by the Energy Consents Unit and considered directly - which maintains transparency and consistency in the process.
