Examination Report

Aberdeenshire Council has now received the Report of Examination for the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan from the Directorate of Planning and Environmental Appeals.

A revised report of examination was issued by the Directorate of Planning and Environmental Appeals on 28 March 2012 to correct some typographical errors and consequential changes to the text of Issue 12: Housing Land Supply. A copy of the revised report is available below along with the cover letter which highlights the changes made.

Next Stages

The DPEA will notify all parties who submitted unresolved represenations to the Local Development Plan that the report has now been published.

Aberdeenshire Council will consider the conclusions and recommendations within the Examination Report and make the requested modifications to the Aberdeenshire Local Development Plan. However there are limited circumstances where the Council may decline to make these modifications, set out in Section 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 and in the Town and Country Planning (Grounds for Declining to Follow Recommendations) (Scotland) Regulations 2009.

Recommendations made in the report of examination will go to the area committees of Aberdeenshire Council:

  • Tuesday 20th March 2012 - Kincardine and Mearns Area Committee, Formartine Area Committee and Buchan Area Committee
  • Tuesday 27th March 2012 - Banff and Buchan Area Committee, Garioch Area Committee and Marr Area Committee

Thereafter a meeting of the Full Aberdeenshire Council will be asked to give its notice of its intention to adopt the Plan at its meeting on the 26th April 2012.
