Request childcare training
The childcare strategy offers professional learning and accredited training opportunities to all of those working in early learning and childcare across Aberdeenshire.
Accredited training courses
Our courses can enable you to fulfill your SSSC registration and relate to the different levels of job role in the early learning and childcare sector.
You must undertake the level of qualification that relates to your current job role. Visit the SQA website for further information about the different levels.
The accredited training courses that we offer are:
|BA Childhood Practice (BACP) at SCQF level IX||The SSSC requirement for those registered as managers and lead practitioners.|
|Professional Development Award (PDA) in childhood practice at SCQF level IX||An alternative route to the BACP for those registered as managers and lead practitioners.|
|Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) in social services (children and young people) at Scottish Qualification Framework (SCQF) levels VII, VIII and IX||These relate to the job roles of support worker, practitioner and lead practitioner respectively, although an SVQ at level IX is not enough on its own for those who require to register as a lead practitioner or manager.|
|SVQ in play work at SCQF levels VII, VIII and IX||These relate to the job roles of support worker, practitioner and lead practitioner respectively, although an SVQ at level IX is not enough on its own for those who require to register as a lead practitioner or manager. An SVQ in play work should be undertaken by anyone who’s main job is in an out of school club|
The accredited training qualifications can be funded by us. If you're eligible you'll also need to apply for part of the funding from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland.
