Community drugs project
The Community drugs project provides support to dependent drug users living in Kemnay and the surrounding area, including Inverurie, Meldrum, Kintore and Kinellar.
The project is supported by the substance misuse service and Community Learning and Development.
The project is based in the Community Learning office in Kemnay Academy and can be contacted by phoning 01467 539853.
The project has a dedicated drugs support worker who offers practical help to anyone experiencing difficulties resulting from drug use. Ranging from help and advice with housing, debt, etc to providing support at an appointment or meeting. Perhaps you just want to go out, have a coffee and a chat or want to try a new activity.
When there is enough interest, people can come together in a group to take part in a programme of activities and outings, decided by the group members. The day is set to suit those involved at that time.
You can refer yourself or be referred by your GP or social worker. The substance misuse service can also refer you.
For more information phone the drugs support worker on 07811 615087, or the Community Office on 01467 539853.
Unfortunately, project staff cannot respond to emergency situations but we will make contact as soon as possible.
