Unplanned or urgent care at home

The Aberdeenshire Responders for Care at Home (ARCH) is a 24-hour service for unplanned and urgent care needs with a maximum 4-hour response time. The service is available 365 days a year. It isn't an emergency service.

Responder teams are based across Aberdeenshire. They work with you, and your families, to prevent a hospital admission and, once medically fit, to promote as early a discharge as possible.

To access this service call 03456 08 12 06 and select option 1.

By working together ARCH strives to support individuals to live independently at home.

ARCH helps:

  • existing Care at Home Service users
  • people who have a community alarm
  • people who are already getting care and support from our teams

ARCH supports our Care at Home Service, Virtual Community Wards, Priority Discharge and End of Life care.

Out of Hours Social Work Service

Our Out of Hours Social Work Service helps anyone experiencing personal or family problems that reach a crisis at nights, weekends or bank holidays. We can provide an urgent social care service in situations that can't wait until the social work offices reopen.

If you need an urgent community care service call 03456 08 12 06.

Calls are screened by experienced staff who will prioritise those referrals that are urgent, and pass on other referrals to daytime services.

When necessary, out of hours service staff will visit you in your own home, in hospital, at a police station or at another relevant location.

This service is available from 5pm to 9am, weekdays and all weekend. The office isn't staffed after midnight. But if your call is urgent you will be put through to someone who can help you.

You can contact our Social Care teams to help with your non-urgent social care needs.
