Waste and recycling centre site rules

Please familiarise yourself with our household recycling centre site rules before visiting:

• Always treat site staff with respect - abuse will not be tolerated and may be reported to the police
• Sort your items at home so each waste type is separated. This makes your visit quicker and increasers the amount we can recycle
• Items disposed in black bags will not be recycled
• Only bring household waste and recycling - we don’t accept trade waste
• Don’t remove items from skips or ask staff for items, except for food caddies, food caddy liners and battery bags
• A separate booking is needed for each visit, for vehicles or sites where bookings are required. Please check the recycling centre site details before visiting
• Some sites use automated barriers with number plate recognition to check bookings. Stop at the barrier and wait for it to open. Staff will be available if needed
• For your safety, follow speed limits, site signage, and instructions from staff
• Children and animals should remain inside your vehicle during your visit
• Be prepared to unload the vehicle yourself, as staff may not always be able to help. Gloves are recommended
• Allow enough time to unload your vehicle before closing time, as you may be asked to leave the site
• Asbestos, tyres and liquid paint are not accepted at any recycling centre
• Pedestrian access is available at some recycling centre sites for those without a vehicle. Don't park outside the site and walk in
