Funding from Garioch Area Committee budget or the local Common Good Funds can only be accessed once in any 3-year period.
Area Initiatives Fund
Communities across Garioch are invited to apply for grants of up to £2,000 for projects which deliver one or more of the following themes:
- Healthier communities
- Stronger and empowered communities
- Connected communities
Applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis.
Eligibility and criteria:
- The scheme is open to constituted community organisations and council services
- You must provide at least 50% match funding
- Projects must:
- Demonstrate wide community benefit
- Not have started before funding is approved
- Be completed by February 2027

Aberdeenshire Charities Trust funding
Aberdeenshire Charities Trust (ACT2) administers charitable funds in Aberdeenshire and is a registered charity (SC045539). There are designated funds available to the council wards in the Garioch area that can be used for purposes set out by the trust.

Eligibility
Individuals that live in any of the areas specified in the trust or who can demonstrate that they have a reasonable connection to these areas can apply for funding. The maximum grant available to individuals is £500.
In addition, companies, associations and other organisations who provide services, projects or facilities in the areas may apply for grants of up to £1,000.
Applications can only be considered if they meet the purposes detailed in the trust.

There are no designated Aberdeenshire Charities Trust funds for Ward 10 - West Garioch (Insch and Kemnay) and Ward 13 - Westhill and District.
