Support for Ukrainians
People across Aberdeenshire and beyond are looking for ways in which they can help support Ukrainian communities and individuals.
How Ukrainians can come to the UK
Routes for Ukrainians to come to the UK include:
- Ukraine Family Scheme visa
- Homes for Ukraine Direct Sponsor
- Homes for Ukraine Scottish Government Super Sponsor Scheme
The Aberdeenshire Welcome Hub Hotels accommodate people arriving via the super sponsor route. Resettlement Officers supporting families in hotels identify suitable approved sponsors and then assist with the transition process and ongoing support. A team of staff including Housing Officers, help Ukrainians to find longer term housing options. Welcome packs help hosts and guests to navigate arrival and settling in Aberdeenshire. They include information about immigration, money advice, community, employment and council services.
NHS Inform created guides to explain the range of NHS services available and how to access them:
- Access to the NHS Scotland services for Ukrainians in Ukrainian and English
- Access to the NHS Scotland services for Ukrainians in Russian and English
