Formartine Area Committee funding

Funding is available from the Formartine Area Committee.

Formartine Coastal Communities Fund

This fund is open for the 2026 to 2027 allocation. Applications to be received by 12 noon on Monday 18th May 2026.

A proportion of the income generated by Crown Estate Scotland is allocated annually to coastal local authorities including Aberdeenshire Council.

Eligibility

Applications can be made by any of the following organisations:

  • Small and medium enterprises (limited companies, partnerships or sole traders)
  • Public sector organisations
  • Cooperatives
  • Charities registered in Scotland
  • Constituted community groups

Individuals, unconstituted groups and political or campaigning groups are not eligible for funding. Religious groups will not normally be eligible unless they can demonstrate a broad community benefit. Applications which are wholly or primarily for the benefit of an individual will not be considered.

Applicants must provide the following as part of their application:

  • Constitution, memorandum or articles of association
  • Bank statements covering a period of 3 months
  • Annual accounts for the past 3 years

Available funds

The 2026 to 2027 allocation for Formartine is £118,961.03.

You can apply for a grant of up to 90% of project costs, with a minimum of £1,000 and a maximum of £49,999.

Aberdeenshire Charities Trust funding

Aberdeenshire Charities Trust (ACT2) administers charitable funds in Aberdeenshire and is a registered charity (SC045539). There are designated funds available to the council wards in the Formartine area that can be used for purposes set out by the trust.

Eligibility

Individuals that live in any of the areas specified in the trust or who can demonstrate that they have a reasonable connection to these areas can apply for funding. The maximum grant available to individuals is £500.

In addition, companies, associations and other organisations who provide services, projects or facilities in the areas may apply for grants of up to £1,000. 

Applications can only be considered if they meet the purposes detailed in the trust.
