Aberdeenshire Council Returning Officer, Chief Executive Jim Savege, said: “I would like to thank everyone across Aberdeenshire who took the time to cast their vote in the Scottish Parliament election. Participation in elections is fundamental to a strong and healthy democracy and it has been encouraging to see such positive engagement in communities throughout the region.
“I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to all those who played a part in delivering this major event. From the teams who prepared in the weeks leading up to polling day, to those working at polling stations, transporting ballot boxes and carrying out the count, this has been a significant collective effort.
“Co-ordinating an election is a complex undertaking and it’s thanks to the dedication and professionalism of Aberdeenshire Council staff that everything ran so smoothly. I am particularly grateful to everyone who supported operations across our polling places and to those involved in the count at P&J Live, which we successfully delivered in partnership with Aberdeen City Council.”
