Report a countryside access problem
If you're stopped from using your countryside access rights or experience problems caused by irresponsible access, you can report the issues using the forms on this page. We'll review all submitted forms and provide advice or investigate if needed.
Report an issue preventing countryside access
Issues which may prevent your countryside access rights can include a physical barrier to access, a new development preventing access or obstructive signage.
As a first step to resolving any access issues we would encourage dialogue between the parties concerned if it is felt safe to do so. If the issue is not resolved after discussions, you should report the issue. When cases prove more difficult to resolve we will attempt to find a solution that is satisfactory to all parties.

Irresponsible access is where behaviour does not comply with the Scottish Outdoor Access Code, such as anti-social camping.

Report other environmental issues
You can report other countryside issues, including dead birds, fly tipping and invasive plants using our online services.
Report criminal activity
Any criminal behaviour should be reported to Police Scotland. Examples of criminal activity at countryside sites include:
- Wildlife crime
- Livestock worrying and thefts
- Vandalism
- Wilful or culpable and reckless fires
- Defecating and urinating to the annoyance of others
- Breach of the peace
- Noise nuisance
