Parentsportal

Parentsportal.scot is a digital service to help replace the traditional school bag run by providing direct communication to parents and carers through a growing selection of online services.

As parentsportal.scot is securely linked to your myAberdeenshire account it also makes it a one-stop-shop for digital services already available in Aberdeenshire.

On this page you can find out more:

Who can log into parentsportal.scot

This first phase of parentsportal.scot will be for those parents or carers who are already confirmed as your child’s main contact. This is the person who already receives electronic information from your child(ren)’s school and completes the annual data check form.

If you are not a main contact, your child(ren) are about to start at a new Aberdeenshire school or are starting in primary 1 or secondary 1 from August 2020, your school will inform you during the first term, when you can set up your account.

What you will see in parentsportal.scot

To start with, you will see basic information about your child(ren)’s school along with online services such as a link to paying for school meals and completing your child(ren)’s annual data check form electronically.

As we introduce new online services, you may find that some new online services either do not hold any information or do not appear to do anything. This is because we will be testing the online services before we activate it in your child’s school. Your school will keep you informed when new online services become available.

How to sign up for parentsportal.scot

Parentsportal.scot is accessed via myAberdeenshireIf you don't already use myAberdeenshire, you will need to create an account and you can do that by registering for myaccount. Select 'Register', then 'Create a new account'.

Whether you are a new or existing myAberdeenshire user there are two things you will need to do to be able to access partentsportal.scot:

  • consent to sharing your data with parentsportal.scot
  • link your child's details to your account

Link your child's details to your account

In order to make a link to your child(ren), the information you provide during the link child process must match the information your child’s school holds, for example:

  • you need to be identified as your child’s main contact
  • your child needs to have started in the school, the stage they will be in from August 2020
  • you need to provide your child's proper name (not preferred one) when asked for their first name

If you already have a myAberdeenshire account and have moved home, remember to check that the address held in myAberdeenshire is also up to date. MyAberdeenshire may still have your old address.

After entering you child's details you will be sent a security code to either your mobile number or email address registered in the school's system. This code is to provide additional security before your child's record is linked for access. You will need to enter the code to complete the link child request. which will be then sent to the school for approval.

If you have more than one child, you can choose to 'link further children'. You will only need to link each account once.

Aberdeenshire schools will begin reviewing link child(ren) requests from Wednesday 12th August 2020. Schools will be very busy at the start of term, so this will take up to 5 working days. When your request is approved you will receive an email confirming you can sign in to the parents portal and see your child's details from your account.
