Abbey Court respite flat
Abbey Court is a very sheltered housing complex in Mintlaw.
We lease one of the flats for use as a short term respite facility. It is available for use mainly by older people, but people with learning and/or physical disabilities and people experiencing mental health difficulties can also be considered for a short break here too.
The respite flat is a self-contained, furnished ground floor flat. The accommodation comprises:
- large bedroom with two single beds
- lounge with colour TV and radio
- fully equipped kitchen - with fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, crockery and cutlery
- shower or wet room with toilet
Meals are available in our dining room where there is a daily choice of menus for lunch and supper.
Laundry facilities are also available in the building and our staff can help you with this.
Occupants of the respite flat are welcome to use our lounge. It has a large screen TV, music centre, digital reminisce therapy computer, DVD films and a fully equipped kitchen. So you can make a drink while using the lounge facilities.
Various activities are arranged by staff daily. If you wish to join in you are more than welcome.
Use of the flat can only be arranged through a Care Manager, Occupational Therapist or other Social Work agency. This should normally be planned well in advance, although in certain circumstances, emergency admittance can be arranged.
