EIA for planning applications
Request an EIA scoping opinion
If your development needs an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), you can ask us for a scoping opinion. This is not mandatory but it will tell you the environmental topics you need to assess and what information needs to be included your EIA report.
Make a request
To request a scoping opinion from us you will need to provide the following, and send it our correspondence address:
- Scoping report
- Completed EIA scoping request form (PDF 135KB)
View the planning applications privacy notice (PDF 227KB).
Scoping report
Scoping requests should detail any available environmental information and set out the proposed scope of the assessment. The content may vary depending on your development, but could include environmental topics such as wildlife, air quality, or noise.
If you need further guidance on what to provide please contact us.
What happens next
When we receive your request we will send you an acknowledgement email or letter with a reference number. We will then issue a scoping opinion within 35 days of this.
