There is a possibility we may be asked to provide information about pre-application advice inquiries, when FOI and EI requests are made.

You can request pre-application advice in paper by completing our major and national development advice form (PDF 162KB) and sending it to our correspondence address.

What happens next

We will aim to send a formal written response within 30 working days of the request being validated.

If we need further information or a site visit, the timescale may be extended to ensure the best possible response. If an extension is needed, you will be contacted by the case officer.

We will always issue a formal written response with pre-application advice. We may also suggest that further communication or a meeting may be beneficial. This will be at the discretion of the case officer dealing with your enquiry.
