Disruptions to bin collections

Occasionally, bin collections are missed for a variety of reasons including weather conditions, road closures, or vehicles being in for maintenance and repair.

What to do if we missed your bin

If your bin was missed please leave it out in the first instance. 

If the missed collection is listed on this page, you don't need to report it. If it isn't listed, before reporting a missed bin please make sure that: 

• You presented your bin by 7am
• The bin was not collected by 4.45pm
• The bin was not tagged

If you find yourself accumulating additional household recycling and waste, please remember you can take it to a recycling centre. 

When we will collect

Where we don't otherwise indicate on this page, if we don't collect your bin within five days, we will collect excess on the next collection day for that same bin, unless it was originally tagged or not presented.

Recently missed bins

9th January 2026

Due to weather conditions we aren't able to collect household and trade bins in most areas.

Scheduled collections will be attempted in Banff, Macduff, St Cyrus, and Stonehaven, but we might not able able to get to all these bins.

If your area isn’t listed, please assume your collection is not taking place and, if possible, take your bin back in. 

When conditions do improve, we will look at the missed collections along with our staff and vehicle resources to determine where it is practicably possible to return for bins.

8th January 2026

Due to weather conditions we aren't able to collect household and trade bins in most areas.

Scheduled collections will be attempted in Aberchirder, Banff, Fraserburgh, Ladysbridge, Longside and Peterhead but we might not able able to get to all these bins.

If your area isn’t listed, please assume your collection is not taking place and, if possible, take your bin back in. 

When conditions do improve, we will look at the missed collections along with our staff and vehicle resources to determine where it is practicably possible to return for bins.

7th January 2026

Due to weather conditions we aren't able to collect household and trade bins in most areas.

We attempted to collect in Fraserburgh, Macduff and Banff and black lid refuse bins for Laurencekirk but some bins in these areas might have been missed.

When conditions do improve, we will look at the missed collections along with our staff and vehicle resources to determine where it is practicably possible to return for bins.

6th January 2026

Due to weather conditions we aren't able to collect household and trade bins in most areas.

We attempted to collect in Banff, Fraserburgh, Macduff and Whitehills however some bins in these areas might have been missed.

When conditions do improve, we will look at the missed collections along with our staff and vehicle resources to determine where it is practicably possible to return for bins.

5th January 2026

Due to weather conditions we weren't able to collect any household and trade bins.

We are not scheduling any returns for collections but if the weather improves and we can return we will provide an update. If we don't come back we will take extra at the next collection for this bin type.
