Content updates
Who can request content changes
The UX team only accepts requests for changes to the website from content editors and content providers. Find out more about website governance.
If you haven’t requested updates before, check who normally does it in your team. They should submit the request as we accept them from specific people only. This also helps to avoid delays.
There are different ways of requesting content updates depending on the type of content and who is requesting it.
Content editors
Content editors request regular changes to the same content. They have editor access to the stage website, so they can update the content, but can't publish the changes to the live website. Find out more about the stage and live websites.
This level of access is only given for content with a fixed format and frequent, recurring updates, such as:
- Opening times and closures
- Property for sale or let
View user guides for content editors for instruction on how to make changes and request publishing.
You don’t need to request editor access for frequently updated content. We monitor site statistics to identify these areas and decide whether editor access is appropriate. When it is, we’ll assign a small number of content providers as editors.
Content providers
If you don’t have editor access but frequently request updates to the same content, you are probably already recognised as a content provider.
Content providers can request updates, but can't make and changes to the stage website. The UX team actions these requests. Find out how content providers can request updates.
