Who needs to book

Vehicles with trailers or commercial type vehicles must book in advance and are limited in the number of visits they can make. Other vehicle types don't need to make a booking to visit Banchory recycling centre.

Some textile recycling banks were removed from our recycling points and centres. These are in the process of being replaced. Find out about the replacement of textile recycling banks. 

Items for reuse

Banchory recycling centre accepts certain pre-loved items so that they can be rehomed by a local charity. These include:

• Bicycles
• Small electrical items with CE markings or UK safety label or stamp, all parts and plug
• Furniture with a fire retardant label - not broken, no rips, tears or stains

The centre doesn't accept mattresses for reuse.

Items not accepted

The following items are not accepted at Banchory recycling centre:

• Asbestos
• Commercial or trade waste
• Liquids - excluding engine (mineral) and cooking oil which are accepted
• Paint in liquid form - must be solidified
• Tyres

Available recycling equipment

You can collect the following recycling equipment from Banchory recycling centre:

• Battery bags
• Food caddy liners
• Indoor blue food waste caddies
• Green outdoor food caddies
