Insch recycling centre
This page has everything you need to know about Insch recycling centre, including where it is, when it's open, who needs to book, what items can and can't be accepted, and what recycling equipment can be collected.
Opening times
Tuesday and Saturday:
- 9am to 12pm
- 12pm to 12.30pm - pedestrian access only, no vehicles
- 12.30pm to 1pm - closed
- 1pm to 4.30pm
Opening times vary over Christmas and New Year, but we are usually open on other public holidays.
Pedestrian access
Pedestrian access without booking is available from 12pm to 12.30pm.
Vehicles are banned during those times to allow pedestrians, bicycles, and bikes with trailers safe access. Please don't park your vehicle outside the centre and walk in as this causes spillages and issues for passing traffic.
Who needs to book
Vehicles with trailers or commercial type vehicles must book in advance and are limited in the number of visits they can make. Other vehicle types don't need to make a booking to visit the Insch centre.

Items not accepted
The following items are not accepted at the Insch centre:
- Asbestos
- Bulky waste
- Commercial or trade waste
- Engine oil
- Glass bottles and jars
- Liquids - excluding engine (mineral) and cooking oil which are accepted
- Paint in liquid form - must be solidified
- Plasterboard
- Polystyrene
- Rubble
- Soil or turf
- Textiles
- Tyres
- Upholstered seating containing Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPS)
Insch centre doesn't accept any items for reuse, including mattresses.

You can collect the following recycling equipment from the Insch centre:
- Battery bags
- Food caddy liners
- Indoor blue food waste caddies
- Green outdoor food caddies
